Cocoa Appendant Bodies

The appendant bodies of Freemasonry are organizations that are extensions of Freemasonry. To belong to any of them, first, candidates must already have earned the three degrees of Masonry. Organizations with affiliations to Freemasonry are also referred to as 'Appendant' to a Lodge.

The York Rite (sometimes called the American Rite), together with the Blue lodge, comprises three separate and distinct bodies: Royal Arch Chapter (Capitular Masonry), Council of Royal & Select Masters (Cryptic Masonry) and the Commandery of the Knights Templar.

The Order of Knight Masons is a chivalric Masonic order, open to all Master Masons who are also members of a Mark Lodge and a Royal Arch Chapter. Members of the order meet in Councils of Knight Masons which are governed by the Grand Council of Knight Masons based in Dublin, Ireland.

Three degrees comprise the Knight Masons and communicate the story of the efforts to build the second Temple in Jerusalem.

Order of the Eastern Star

Meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays Monthly

The General Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star is a Fraternal Order composed of affiliated Master Masons in good standing, their female relatives. It was established in November 1876 (170+ years ago) by a convention of delegates. The O.E.S. is based on teachings from the Bible (Truth, Charity, and Loving Kindness) and is open to people of all religious beliefs.
